Rejoice in the Lord

'Though the fig tree does not bud and there is no fruit on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the flocks disappear from the pen and there are no herds in the stalls, yet I will celebrate in the Lord ; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation! '

Eyes of the Lord

The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil. 1st Peter 3:12

How do I keep on the right path?

How do I keep on the right path?

Daily read the Bible and try to get something out of it. Daily prayer and prayer throughout the day. Talk with other Christian brothers. Listening to sermons every Sunday. Singing songs to God as a form of worship to God.

What are my boundaries?

In my walk with integrity to the Lord, and for accountability to my wife, and my Christian brothers and sisters, I have chosen this path.

  1. Do not engage in private conversations with other women
  2. Do not meet women in private meetings
  3. Do not have online friends who are women

How do I start my recovery

On to the road to recovery!!! So many ask the questions

1. how do I stop viewing porn?

2. what do I stop cheating on my wife?

3. how do I stop flirting with other women?

4. how can I stop masturbating?

Ok. If you look at secular recovery programs, they will give you 'their' answer which is not the biblical one. Because their answer is 'man-made' and only is effort. Now some might say 'it works' so what...but not so what. If we are only after the external behavior of watching and masturbating, then yes, 'that' might work but 'that' is not what Jesus Christ wants because 'that' will only produce hard-heated, self-righteous efforts, of 'my recovery efforts and you can see by my sobriety dates'. I can write a lot more because I have tried and I can speak from personal experience that recovery programs did not work, and did not help me at all.

In fact, it made me even worse. Now, let me tell you from personal experience what works. A knowing of God, the daily relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. THAT is the only method I recommend and THAT is the only way, not only to get what is called "sexual sobriety" but to get forgiven of all of your sins BASED ON THE BLOOD AND SACRIFICE OF THE LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST and true heart integrity by the HOLY SPIRIT who convicts the world of sin. Yes, I have a very narrow approach because MY SAVIOR has a narrow way. Everything I try to say and believe in is based on my understanding and my interpretation of the Holy Bible. You would be right to check the scriptures to see what I say is true or not. I encourage you too. I would do that if I heard you too. We are not simply talking about "recovery" We are not simply trying to stop "addictive sexual behaviors" If you are ONLY here for that, then you will be missing the point because the POINT is not "how do I fix me" but "how do I live for Jesus Christ in total submission and a living sacrifice? and do the will of God. Let's lay some scriptural foundation for what I'm talking about now, so you can see where I am coming from. Before that let's pray.

Dear God, please help me and please help any readers who are interested in living no more in sexual immorality but in sexual purity and would want to give all the glory to You. Please forgive us of our sins based on the blood and work of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Ok.

If you have a Bible or not please go to www.bible.com and let's see what the scripture say about some very important things. Now, I will ask you some questions. 1. Who is your authority? 2. Where is your text for authority? 3. Who's Will is most important to follow? Let those question be part of your search for God and to know God's Will, because in that process, you WILL be able to produce good fruit by the Holy Spirit, good outcomes, good intentions, good and it will be all to the glory of God and not of yourself. Ok, here we go.

On the issue of Authority.

'Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.' Matthew 28:18-20

There are a lot of preachers, teachers, commentaries, CD's, workshops, programs, and even Christ-Centered ones but...if you do not have a personal relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, you MIGHT be one of these ....Read it carefully and soberly..please.

'“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonderful works in Your name?’ But then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who practice evil.’'

Matthew 7:21-23

If you think it's possible that you could be lost, deceived right now, then it would benefit you to get this right and resolved WHILE YOU ARE STILL alive and not on THAT day.

The scriptures warn us to "examine ourselves" so this is biblical.

'Examine yourselves, seeing whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.' 2 Corinthians 13:5

Let's draw this idea of "examining yourself" from a parable that Jesus said.

Then the kingdom of heaven shall be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were wise and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps, but took no oil with them. But the wise took jars of oil with their lamps. While the bridegroom delayed, they all rested and slept. “But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’ “Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. But the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps have gone out.’ “The wise answered, ‘No, lest there not be enough for us and you. Go rather to those who sell it, and buy some for yourselves.’ “But while they went to buy some, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Afterward, the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open the door for us.’ “But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.'

Matthew 25:1-13

'Examine yourselves, seeing whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. ' 2 Corinthians 13:5 https://my.bible.com/bible/1171/2CO.13.5

Jesus is warning those who would seek to enter into the Kingdom of God to be ready.

Now this raises some new questions.

1. How can I be ready to die?

2. What do I do to be saved?

Even if you think "I'm saved already" and "I know I'm heaven-bound", I would still ask you...are you sure? The people in Matthew 7:21-23 also were sure but were dead wrong. Wouldn't it be better now to know for sure without a doubt. I think so and I know when sin is practiced, there is NO ASSURANCE OF SALVATION, unless you have a faith that tell yous this lie - it's OK to keep watching porn and masturbating and I'll somehow make it. That kind of thinking is insane for a few reasons. Jesus said this verse and you might know it already.

'“You have heard that it was said by the ancients, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away. For it is profitable that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body be thrown into hell.' Matthew 5:27-30

Jesus also warned us this too.

'Do not fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ' Matthew 10:28

Please note that we haven't even begun to answer the question of "How can I stop watching porn? How can I stop masturbating?

We are in need of something greater than merely stopping a particular sin. Let me go further and try to convince you of what the nature of this sin and all sins do.

Please turn to Romans 1 now and starting in verse 18 we read this.

'The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth through unrighteousness. For what may be known about God is clear to them since God has shown it to them. The invisible things about Him—His eternal power and deity—have been clearly seen since the creation of the world and are understood by the things that are made, so that they are without excuse. Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him or give thanks to Him as God, but became futile in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. They changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, birds, four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies among themselves. They turned the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged the natural function for what is against nature. Likewise the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men with men doing that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not proper. They were filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, boastful, inventors of evil things, and disobedient toward parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, calloused, and unmerciful, who know the righteous requirement of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death. They not only do them, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.'

Romans 1:18-32

Now, I am not going to interpret that for you. You can read it plainly for yourself. But you can see a few things that stand out.

So in this context, which is mentioning sins of sexual immorality and also homosexuality, the nature our sex sins is this.

  1. Sexual sin does not glory Him or Give God thanks
  2. Sexual sin makes us "futile in my imagination"
  3. Sexual sin makes us "my heart foolish" and "dark"
  4. Sexual sin trys to make us "Claim to be wise but really we become fools"
  5. Sexual sins changed the glory of God into images like corruptible man.
  6. Because of Sexual sins, God gave them up through the lusts of their hearts and it dishonors our own and their own bodies
  7. Sexual sin turn the truth of God into a lie
  8. Sexual sin make us worship and serve the creature rather than the Creator
  9. Because of sexual sins, God gives them up to dishonorable passions.
  10. Homosexuality/Lesbian/Bi sexual sins are the result now.
  11. Sexual sins is doing what is shameful
  12. Sexual sins cause us to receive in us, the due penalty for our error
  13. Because of sexual sins, God gives us up to depraved minds

That is what is really at state and what goes on behind the scenes. We haven't even mentioned the spiritual warfare and battling demons of lust in the forms of people tempting us, and intrusive thoughts attacks yet.

The questions of "How can I stop watching porn? How can I stop masturbating" or even worse, if someone is a convicted sex-offender, how can I stop and or be changed? - are only able to be fixed by God and His Word. No man or counselor can fix this. When you are alone, and tempted, aroused, many will not even want to pick up the phone to reach out to a man because they think "I will be judged" and "I'm just so aroused I have to masturbate". Little do they know God when they act this way. But this is the common problem for sex addicts. They do these things in the dark and in shame and never feel hope and always go back to it, eventually, in one form or another.

There is only hope in Jesus Christ. That is the good news.

Now, why I am being so hard and fearful, you might think. I'm trying to let the Word of God change us and our views. I wish I could say something cool or great that would help you but I would not be doing right because Jesus Christ has ALREADY said it and has authority.

Now that we have discussed the danger and consequences of our sins and the potential that we could be still be not in right relationship with God, we have to find exactly what is the good news, the gospel, and how do we apply it or get it or fix this problem, the problem of our salvation.

Let's see what the gospel is knowing Jesus, coming to Jesus, staying with Jesus, and believing in Jesus. Let me share this parable of Jesus with you.

'That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat beside the sea. Great crowds assembled around Him, so that He went into a boat and sat there. And the whole assembly stood on the shore. Then He told them many things in parables, saying, “Listen! A sower went out to sow. While he sowed, some seeds fell beside the path, and the birds came and devoured them. But other seeds fell on rocky ground where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up because they did not have deep soil. But when the sun rose, they were scorched. And because they did not take root, they withered away. Some seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. But other seeds fell into good ground and produced grain: a hundred, sixty, or thirty times as much. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”'

Matthew 13:1-9

Jesus gives the explanation here

'“Therefore listen to the parable of the sower. When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one who received seed beside the path. But he who received the seed on rocky ground is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, eventually he falls away. He also who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit. Some produce a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.”' Matthew 13:18-23 https://my.bible.com/bible/1171/MAT.13.18-23

Some produce a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.”'

Matthew 13:18-23

In this story, Jesus is saying some people get the gospel and produce fruit, and some do not truly get and keep the gospel, but become useless.

This makes us asking a new question now.

  1. What is the fruit that the person produces when the seeds of the good news are planted in the heart?

The answer is this. Here is really the aim and the standard, the Jesus gives us. Notice the answer is also answering the first main questions of "how do I quit my sexual sins?"

'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control; against such there is no law. Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.' Galatians 5:22-26

If we can honestly see these kinds of changes in our life, after we have believed in Jesus Christ, then we can better understand the state of our own soul.

  1. Is there love in my life? Do I show love to God first?
  2. Is there joy in my life?
  3. Is there peace in my life?
  4. Is there patience in my life?
  5. Is there gentleness in my life?
  6. Is there goodness in my life?
  7. Is there faith in my life?
  8. Is there meekness in my life?
  9. Is there self-control in my life?

If we can produce this in our life? It's because of God. Let's proof that.

'I say then, walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ' Galatians 5:16

You will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. What is that mean. What is the lust of the flesh?

'Now the works of the flesh are revealed, which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.' Galatians 5:19-21

If I do not allow God to guide me, I will produce that and this.

  1. adultery
  2. sexual immorality
  3. impurity
  4. lewdness
  5. idolatry
  6. sorcery
  7. hatred
  8. strife
  9. jealousy
  10. rage
  11. selfishness
  12. dissensions
  13. heresies
  14. envy
  15. murders
  16. drunkenness
  17. carousing
  18. and the like

We have much more wrong with us than just "sexual immorality" and "adultery" so what if we went to God saying "God help me with this filth" but we didn't know or worse yet, we are not willing to admit our pride, our other filth. We would be going to God in a 1/2 hearted kind of approach which is not giving to God our all, our 100%.

Do you see why we need to submit to God with everything?

Our body, our mind, our talents, our money, our everything belongs to God.

Now, it's impossible to be saved by our efforts. It's impossible to add to the work of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ already has lived the perfect life. Jesus Christ has died for our sins. Jesus Christ has already risen again from the dead.

So what does God expect from me?

Give up trying to live a perfect life.

Rest upon the Lord Jesus Christ.

Know Jesus Christ in a personal way and experience this by praying to Him, confessing your sins, be willing to turn and change and stop the evil thinking and doing, and believing that Jesus Christ has died for your sins.

'Now, brothers, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which you have received, and in which you stand. Through it you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached to you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: how Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, ' 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Jesus said this.

'“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”' Matthew 11:28-30

'All whom the Father gives Me will come to Me, and he who comes to Me I will never cast out. ' John 6:37

We have went over our sins.

We have seen the consequences are serious.

We are guilty in our sins until we come to Jesus.

'He who believes in Him is not condemned. But he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the verdict, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that it may be revealed that his deeds have been done in God.”' John 3:18-21

it says "men loved darkness rather than light".

This is what we have to let go off. Darkness. Which is our sins.

When we do evil, we are hating the light. We have to admit this and confess it to God.

If we do the truth, we are coming to the light.

What we have to do is cry out to God, in real, repentance, in godly sorrow.

Godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but the sorrow of the world produces death.
2 Corinthians 7:10

Here is how to pray

'Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak, and You are blameless when You judge. I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You make me to know wisdom. Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones that You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit fromme. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will return to You. Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.'

Psalms 51:1-17
https://my.bible.com/bible/1171/PSA.51.1-17

God's Word says

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise"

You can trust in that 100%.

You can pray for God to save your soul, to forgive you.

When God works in your heart, you will notice a change, this change is from God. We can't make this change, but we can listen and believe in God.

If you have given your life to God. You can have hope and strength in God. Also, the Holy Spirit is able to convict you of your sins and guide you on where to go.

God will give you His Word and You will receive it. Just like when you eat food.

How to know the real God

'Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out.'
John 6:37

Dear God in heaven, please help us to understand what this means. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Hello, my name is Dominic. I am a Christian. What is a Christian? I will tell you. A Christian is someone who simply believes this - Jesus Christ has died for their sins, was buried and rose to life again on the third day. A Christian is someone who is hoping on Jesus Christ to forgive them of their sins, not on the basis of his/her own works or efforts but on the fact that Jesus Christ did in fact die on the cross for their sins. All sins are paid for.

In the verse, we see above, is a promise from the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ promised us that whoever would come to Him, He would not, He would NEVER cast out.

Surely, some out there believe that "I am not worthy" and "I am not good enough". Listen!. Just come to Jesus and believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. Jesus has paid the price and Jesus said "It is finished"

When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished.” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. John 19:30 MEV

Believe in Jesus Christ. That is it. Cry out to God and tell God your sins and ask God for forgiveness. Come to Jesus in this way. Saying "Have mercy upon my soul O God" and feel the pain and hurt of this sins but know that Jesus Christ took your sins upon Himself and took God's judgment that you and I and we all deserve and paid our price. This is the good news.

You don't have to hold on to the burden anymore.

You don't have to feel lonely and depressed anymore.

You don't have to feel "abandoned" anymore because God has promised this.

I will never leave you, nor forsake you - Hebrews 13:5

Look up to the sky. See Your God who made you is watching over You. God loves you my friend. There is no one else who loves you this way. The best kind of love that we need. Unconditional, Holy, Sweet, Forever Love, God loves you. I can't get any better than this love. God proved He loves you by sending Himself to die on the cross for you. Jesus is God who died for you.

'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created. ' John 1:1-3

This "Word" being talked about is Jesus Christ.

'The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.' John 1:14

Jesus Christ never did anything wrong, yet, people hated Him enough to crucify Him. Jesus said that the world hated Him because He told that the world's ways were evil, speaking about our common "self-righteousness, our pride, our hatred, our sexual immorality" and people who heard this, were so upset they wanted to kill Jesus. It's was "these sins" that make us unclean. The very sins we all try to justify by saying "Well, it's not that bad" or "it really wasn't my fault" and we have lots of these kinds of reasons for trying to justify our own sins. But - when it's not man who is accusing us but God, who sees our hearts and minds and knows our true motives, who has a written record against us, what do we do?

Can a man justify himself before God? Can a man say "God, my hands and my heart is pure?" We might try to "be good" and "make positive changes" but what about our past record? Do our good works, pay for, for "justify" us? The Bible says "no".

'yet we know that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ. Even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, rather than by the works of the law. For by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.'Galatians 2:16

This is good news.

You can't say "magic prayers" to make you "clean before God"

You can't chant or say "words" to make you justified before God.

What makes you justified and clean and forgiven is this - Faith in Jesus Christ

That is all.

Tell God that you want to trust in Him. You can say a prayer from your deep heart conviction that you trust that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, that you are sorry and confess your sins to God, and want to turn from them, and want to live for Jesus Christ now.

Just a simple prayer and God will keep His promise.

But....

do not be deceived.

We can't trick God or somehow think "I did this" so God owes me that. No.

We are saved by God's kindness and mercy and truly knows who is genuine and there will be a change in your walk of like. There will be changes in your heart.

The Christian is not a "merely show of trying to look good". No way.

The Christian is one who wants to seek God, wants to live holy, wants to make God happy, wants to surrender his/her own life to God, and wants to give his/her body as a living sacrifice to God, wants to self-control, wants to live righteousness, according to what the Bible says.

When you and I and we simply search for God, by prayers, and reading the Word of God, the Holy Bible, we will find God and what God wants for us to do.

We all know basic truth that "God wants us to live right and good lives" and the Holy Bible is our instruction manual for this.

We can see the faith of others who lived before us. We can see the destiny of the good and the bad.

The good are those who accept God's way.

The bad are those who reject God's way for their own ways.

You have to choose who is your master now. You or God. There is no middle choice.

I'm not talking about "God, can I just grape jam or strawberry jam" but "God, what do you want me to do? God, please show me how to please You" and God will use your willingness and give you what you need. Pray for wisdom and understand. See the books for Proverbs for this. See how to pray from what Jesus taught his disciples

'“Therefore pray in this manner: Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.' Matthew 6:9-13
